I have had some inspiring days and have so many ideas for new paintings. I have seen several rainbows recently so I wanted to try and capture the subtle colors in a painting. I'm still continuing the cloud paintings and I don't think I will get tired of painting them any time soon. With summer is coming to an end, I can’t wait to paint some fall landscapes. The weather here in Ohio has been hot but I’m looking forward to cooler days and changing leaves.
The hostas in my garden bloomed this year and these little hummingbirds were frequent visitors. It was always a surprise when I spotted one so I wanted to capture their beautiful feathers in a painting. Even though they were all green I know they are young Ruby throated hummingbirds. I have put out feeders with no luck so I was surprised the white flowers of the hostas attracted them. I will be adding some more flowers next year to attract them. I hope they return and bring their hummingbird friends.🍃🍃
Just a start of something new. I when I was younger I had a beautiful Palomino horse named Ed. I loved being in the barn with all of the sights and smells. This little collection was inspired from my love of farm life. Each oil painting is 5" x 7" and painted on linen panel. I wanted to capture the animals beautiful colors and a suggestion of their home. The background color or scene represent their favorite place from the barn to the fields.
