Fresh off the Easel | It’s so Cold

It’s officially a new year and I’m starting off with some winter scenes and a few winter birds. I have some bird feeders outside my kitchen window and I’ve had quite a few visitors, especially cardinals this week when the feeders were refilled. The weather here in Ohio has been hot but I’m looking forward to cooler days and changing leaves.

It was always a surprise when I spotted one so I wanted to capture their beautiful feathers in a painting. Even though they were all green I know they are young Ruby throated hummingbirds. I have put out feeders with no luck so I was surprised the white flowers of the hostas attracted them. I will be adding some more flowers next year to attract them. I hope they return and bring their hummingbird friends.🍃🍃

Summer weather here in Ohio has been hot. We have also had some rainy days and usually after the rain you can see some  beautiful clouds. I’m currently loving the pastel colors and the orange, purple and pinks of the clouds at sunset.
